In this chapter, Ming tells the story of how he and his family were forced to flee to the town of blue carp after being attacked by the darkmoon clan. Ming's father had told Ming that he would take care of them, and Ming says that he will stay with the youthfeathers. Ming tells everyone that he and the other members of the clan have lost their sense of humanity, and that they should be killed. He tells everyone to prepare to flee immediately, as their priority is to save the remaining families. Ming orders ten people to form into teams to help the fleeing families. The entire town has been destroyed, and the last remaining family is left with only a small number of people.
