The chapter opens with the narrator explaining that he's been looking for a long time, but he still hasn't found something to eat. He's read that a spirit rabbit has medicinal qualities, and he'd like to eat it so he can use it as a weapon. He thinks that if he could use the spirit rabbit's movements as a sword, he could easily catch the rabbits. He compares the spirit rabbits' movement to the brothers' martial arts techniques, and says that he would be able to use the same techniques to catch them. He uses the meteor blade as an example of how to use a sword. He calls it the "meteor blade" because it's so powerful that it has nowhere for the protagonist to escape.
