This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the young master of the house. He's not too happy about the fact that Lady Ling-yun has been able to launch a surprise attack on the house without warning. He says that if he'd been hit by a bullet, he would have been dead by now. He also says that a friend of his is in the house, so he's going to play a game for everyone. The game will be about the heavenly plume, or void moon. Everyone inside the house should stay where they are. There are rebels hidden inside the word-thug tower. Everyone should arrest anyone who looks suspicious. The bastard should be ashamed of himself for trusting him so much. The area outside is already surrounded, but if they're careful they can still make their escape. He apologizes for trusting the bastard so much, but he can't blame himself for not being more careful. He tells everyone in the tower to stand up straight and not fidgeting. He warns them that they are here to arrest someone, and anyone who tries to get in their way will be treated like a rebel. The general scolds
