This chapter opens with the appearance of a small demon carp. It's the old ancestor of the xiangwu dragon seal, who's been around for thousands of years. The carp tells us that he's a disciple of Emperor tianling and that he doesn't want to hinder him in his mission. He's just here to help the old man in his cultivation. The old man tells the carp that the voices he just heard belonged to him and his old friend, the shangguan dragon seal. The demon carp says that his meridians have been damaged by the clash between the old men, and he needs to regulate his energy flow. He asks yuning to help him get up. He says that the two other meridians in his body are too strong for him to regulate. He needs celestial energy to heal them. He screams and cries and begs his grandfather to save him.
