Back at the palace, Fang tells his brother-in-law that he and Chinglu have reached the seventh level of heaven. They plan to sneak into the palace and rescue his sister. They'll be discovered and then they won't have a chance to rescue her, Fang says. They need to make sure that they're not discovered, because heaven has a thousand guards at the sixth or seventh level. Fang says that he'll draw the guards away and then look for Chinglu. That way, he says, if they find Chinglu, they can just let him go.
