The narrator tells us that the truth is that urashima is his first love, too, and that he's trusted Tamura to keep him safe. Tamura, however, isn't the only one who trusts Tamura. He's also the one who's been betrayed by the government, and the narrator is sure that this is because of Tamura's betrayal. The narrator asks Tamura if he plans to live his life without telling anyone, and Tamura replies that he hasn't yet decided what his feelings are. He says he'll take on Tamura for himself if he needs to, but he doesn't want to tell anyone about it yet. When Tamura asks why they're fighting, Tamura says it's because they've been attacked by a mysterious group of enemies, and he'd rather die than be a part of that group. He also says that Tamura is a moron, because he and his ventriloquist don't plan to live their lives without ever telling anyone about their love for each other. When the narrator asks if Tamura has figured out his feelings yet, he says he has yet to do so. He adds that he won't tell anyone his feelings until he decides what he wants to do with his life. He tells Tamura that the group is firing rockets at random, and they aren't him. He thinks they are just trying to scare him away from his love for Tamura and his sister.
