About This Chapter
In this short scene, the main character, Goku, tells the audience that he is on his way to India to get some holy texts for himself and his family. When he arrives at the train station, he is surprised to find that a monkey has been cast in place of the girl, Seta-san, who is supposed to be the girl in the play. Goku tells the monkey that he will release him soon. The monkey, however, is not amused by the casting of the monkey. He thinks that the girl should have been cast as the girl because she is so young. He also thinks that all the children are going to be heading for the river ogre, and that the monkey is popular with them. When the monkey hears that all of them are headed for the ogre, he wants to go with them, but he is afraid that the children will eat him. He is also afraid that they will enjoy eating him. The children are unhappy as well, and he is sure that they are unhappy too. He wonders why they are not going with him willingly. The child actors are also unhappy, as well. The bull demon king, who has come to see the play, is also unhappy. He wants to engage in battle with the child actors, but they are too young and inexperienced to do so
