Okay, now we're back in the present, where we find Nemo and Nemo's stuffed animal. Nemo asks the stuffed animal why it's named "mutsumi" instead of "San." He's not sure why, but he thinks it'll be fun to look at old photos of Nemo and the girl he promised to marry when he was 15 years old. Nemo says that he promised a girl to go to Todai with him, but the girl didn't show up, so he's going to have to go alone. Nemo then asks the girl why she's so sad, and she says that she has a fever. Nemo wants to know what's bothering her, but she doesn't want to tell him. Nemo tells the girl that he wants to meet someone "destined" for him. She says that's nice, but that she'd rather meet someone who's destined for her than someone who isn't. Nemo thinks that the two of them are destined for each other, and he decides that he'll do everything he can to get them together.
