Narusegawa is still waiting at the post office for his flight back to Todai, and he's not happy about it. He's also worried about how he'll be able to tell his wife how he feels about her. He says he can't do anything about it, because he has a "license" to do so, but he can do something if he needs to. Finally, he says, he realizes that the flight isn't going to go through. He blames keitaro for not being able to make it on time. He also blames himself for not telling his wife that he was in a bad mood. He admits that he came to the island to help with excavation, and now he knows what he wants to do in the future. He wants to go back to the Todai to apply for a job there. He apologizes to his wife for being late, and she forgives him. She says she'll forgive him again when he drinks some more.
