In this chapter, we learn that Hirohito's mother, Hinata, has died, and that her son, Enoshima, has been sent to live with his father in Todai. Enoshima's father is Hiroyuki, and his mother is Hinata's sister. Hiroyuki's younger sister, Hitomi, is also a student at Todai, and she is the one who is in love with Hiroyuki. When Hitomi asks her why she is so upset, she tells him that she has learned from her father that it is better to be happy than to be sad. She also tells him to be kind to her sister, and to be gentle with her. When she asks him why he is so angry, he tells her that he is angry because she is a woman and he does not want her to be angry with him. He also tells her not to worry about her feelings for him, because he is a good father and she should be happy. He tells her to take care of herself, and when she does so, he gives her a reward for it. When he asks her if she likes to take baths, she says that she does, but that she cannot show her butt, because it is "embarrassing." She tells him about how she is going to play the part of a prostitute in a play about a young man about to go to college, and how she admires him for his hard work.
