In this short scene, Shmoop continues his story of love between Hiroshi and Shimobu. The first scene is set in Hiroshi's apartment, where he is writing in his journal. He has just returned from a summer vacation in U.S.A., and he and his friend, Shinobu, have been hanging out on the beach. They have been talking about kissing, and the two of them have been trying to figure out a way to kiss each other. When they finally manage to do so, they are both surprised to find that they have been able to kiss one another. They are both amazed at the skill of the two young men, and Shmichu remarks that they must be very good at kissing. The two men continue to argue about the merits of the kiss, and it is clear that they do not like each other very much. When the two men return to the apartment, they find that the kiss has been successful, and they are surprised to learn that it was the first kiss they have ever had.
