He's not going to let the kid get too close to him, because he can't hurt him. The guy's too scared to fight, and he doesn't know how to deal with the monster's presence. The dude's got to figure out a way to get out of this, or he'll find someone else to fight with after he dies, the dude says. He wants the kid to stay away from him, but the kid won't listen. The thing is, the kid's really entangled in this monster, so the monster is going to have to use his own body to fight it off. He tells the kid that if he keeps hanging out with the guy, it'll only bring shame on the name of the guy. He says that if the kid keeps hanging around like this, it will only make the whole thing even worse. He asks the kid if he really wants to go with him to fight this thing.
