Back at the castle, the bastard complains to the knights that he's not feeling well. He's worried that they're going to kill him, but they've gone so far that he won't even be able to fight back. He doesn't want to leave, he says, because the knights think that they can kill him anytime. In fact, even if he can't kill the knights, he can still bite some of them off. The bastard wants to know why the knights are so impatient with him. Apparently, the knights want to protect the brat at the house, but the brat has joined the white cloud pavilion only a year before. The knights are arrogant, he tells them.
