About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he knew what his life would become when he arrived in the city. He began his new life within the chaos of the city, but he was happy with it. He says that the people around him were afraid to speak to him because they could not do anything for him. The narrator says that he is tired and wants to go home, but the guys are about to start their meeting. He tells them that he doesn't want anything to do with them all, and that he belongs to the darkness. He asks them not to forget who they are, and says that people like them belong to the dark, and will be lonely. He reminds them that they are challenging the God realm alone, and not to worry about a woman like candice, who will risk her own life for the sake of a few people around her. The guys are idiots, he says, because they are scared of women. They should attack together, because candice is no longer strong enough to stand up to them. She is the one who is valued by them, and they should not give up on themselves so easily. She does not usually appear, and anyone disagrees, come forward, she can be scary. She lost her life trying to save you, she says. She tells the guys not to let her control their bodies in the future. She says that she is telling the truth, but it is noisy, and there is no place for them in the big world. She wants to know how a god who has lost his immortality is fit to say such thoughtless comments.
