In this chapter, Dean Corbert breaks the rules and tells his men to hold their positions. He tells them that he's going up against the monsters, and that the captain of one of the knights was just "bullshitting" them. He's sure the captain will never open up again. He asks if there's anyone in the building that needs to be locked up, and the captain tells him that there is. He also asks if the captain wants to show off his military weapon, which he says is the only weapon that can be used against these monsters. The captain says that if he were serious, he'd be sure that the other monsters wouldn't be the only enemies. He says that he will never give his country up to the monsters like you. He reminds them that they can represent their own country to claim credit for killing the monster, and he says that history is always going to repeat itself. History will repeat itself, he says. He promises that if there is no new leader for the country, he will give them 24 hours to find a leader.
