It's a blood-eye cough, and the kid is freaking out. He's got a bad case of the "cold-blooded murderer" syndrome. The kid says he's done talking yet, and that he'll still fight, even if it means breaking his arm. The dude's exhausted, and he says that the kid almost broke his arm in the fight. He says that if he had just used his claws, the kid would've died by now. He tells the kid that he can still use his arm to see into the kid's heart, even though the kid tries to control his mind. He compares the kid to an "eye ability" , which is a fancy way of saying he can see people's "deepest thoughts" no matter how they try to hide them. He asks the kid if she really values the people around her, and she says yes.
