In this chapter, we find out that the "sunshine realm" has finally arrived, and that the source of the creatures has been found. We learn that the sun is a "vine-like thing" , which is like an aperture that allows light to pass through it. The narrator says that he has seen the creatures in groups and that they bring "mass destruction" . He also says that the woman who lied to him is not a woman at all, but not a human being at all. He asks if they can eliminate all the creatures, and if the aperture pillar can recover itself. He says that if they were able to do so, there would be "something moving inside" that would allow the sun to continue to exist.
