About This Chapter
In this chapter, the "harvester" and the "decapitation" begin to fight. The "Harvester," as he's called, wants to kill the "Eater," but the "Decapitation," who's been trying to kill him, doesn't want to be killed. He wants to eat the "soul elements" of the cockroach, which are purer than the soul elements of the bug. The two of them know each other from their river of life, but they don't know what to do with each other. The only thing that matters is that they're both doomed to extinction. The laws of nature, the laws of evolution, are the ones that govern all life. They're the same in every living thing, and the only difference between them is that the one that's doomed will die first. The other one, the demon, is doomed to die first, too, because it's connected to the same "lateral vein" as the cockroach. The harvester wants to know if the "demon realm" will be able to recover if he kills the other one. The devourer says that if he stops devouring, it will be back to its normal state, but that he'll need to eat again because of all the troubles the cockroach brought him. He's not satisfied with this, and he wants to get away from the fight.
