This chapter's epigraph comes from a soliloquy by the "sunshine realm" character, Sunshine Realm. It's a quote from Voltaire's "The Faerie Queene," in which he says, "I am not a human being, but I can be any form." He's referring to the fact that he's not considered a human, and that he can be anything he wants. He also says that if he wants, he can do whatever he wants with his soul. He doesn't understand what's going on with the soul-eating creature, and wonders why he came to this place. He wants to know where the "heaven eye" is, and what it's doing. He can't believe that the creature has escaped, and he wants to kill it if he dares poke him again. He says that the soul elements in the creature's body will go back into its river of life if the creature tries to kill him again, but if it tries to attack him, he'll "explode" in front of him. He knows that the "soul elements" in his body are the same soul elements that are "eating" the creature, so the creature needs to use the heaven eye to keep it alive. He tells the creature to shut up and not to worry about him, because if he were to destroy his body, he wouldn't even be able to fight the creature.
