This chapter opens with a flashback to the events leading up to the kidnapping of Lucio. Lucio and her father are on their way to the seashore when they encounter the black sheep, and Lucio tells her father that she will not let him go. She tells him that she has found him, and he tells her that he will not allow her to leave him. He tells her to go to the police, and she tells him to do so. She says that she is now utterly abandoned by her family.
