The young master tells his mother that he wants to see his daughter-in-law, but she is afraid that he will scare her. The master tells her that he is aware that her son has a "persoanity disorder" and that she should not be afraid of him. He tells her to go to a room where she can get some rest. The maid comes in and tells the young master that her tea tastes better in the country than it does in the city. She tells him that she has never been to the country and that it is missing a "little bit of flavor" compared to the tea from the country. She says that she wanted to please her mother, but the maid was trying to please the mother. She asks the master if he used to expect her to please his family, and he says that he never thought he would be open enough to the world to be open about his presence before. He says that no matter what the family says, he will not be scared. He wants to meet his mother alone.
