This chapter opens with a conversation between Mr. Gong and Miss Si. He tells her that if she wants to find her fortune in the child, she should just say her conditions. He says that he already told her that he never got pregnant, and that even if she did have the child of Mr. Ganymede, she would still have an abortion. Miss Si says that denying is useless now. She says that she already told him that she never had a child. He asks her if she is relieved now that she has had an abortion, and she replies that she would have had one if she had not taken the pills. He then says that the plain-looking Miss Si is tougher than anyone else because she gave birth to a child that was not hers. There are already a lot of women around her.
