"Who's that, Mr. mu. take one more pill" , says Mr. Shu. He's been taking half-doses of medicine to help him prepare for his wedding. He doesn't want to upset his fiancee, so he's going to hold off on the wedding for a little while longer. Maybe, just maybe, they're going to get married, and he'll be a minor character in the buddhist history. Shu says that he wants to ask about his headache, but he can't do so because it's not the right thing to do. He thinks of a Buddhist story about a scholar's fiancee who married someone else. The scholar looked into a mirror and saw the dead woman lying naked on the beach. A man passed by took a look and walked away; a second man covered the corpse; and a third man dug a pit and buried the body. Shu is the second passerby in the Buddhist story. In other words, he is the one who was the third person in the story.
