In this chapter, we learn that Tod and the others are still experimenting with the keys on the piano to see if they can seal the "kiss of death." Tod says that he can't remember what they were doing, so they're going to start by using the hands to seal the kiss. He says that if he becomes "amnesiac," then he's the "angel of music" , and he can do whatever he wants to the "idiot birds" . The grim reapers won't be able to choose the contents of the gloves, he says, because their own natures are death. Tod tells the others that they'll be participating in the wedding of the cousin of one of their friends, and that he'll go too, since that's where the creator of the piano is.
