It's been a long time since they've seen each other, and now that they're back in the house, we find out that tod hates the piano, but he can play it, too. We learn that one of his friends has a debt that he owes, and he needs help getting it paid off. He asks if he can borrow the iou, which is a piece of paper with the address of the person who owes the money. The iou says that he's willing to help collect the debt, but only if the piano key is released. The piano key will make it easier for Tod to play the piano again, he says, and that's when they'll be able to get the piano back.
