About This Chapter
The angel of music tells the bird that he is leaving his wings because he is an order. He says that he wants to give the bird another chance, but that he will not send him back to the world where he came from. The angel says that they have opened a portal to their worlds, and that they can now see each other's worlds. The bird asks where the beam of light is, and the angel tells him that he can only hear the voice of the bird if it is his. He explains that everything he has done is to complete the symphony, so that the piano will play again. The angels get along so well, he says, because they all want to uphold their different natures. He adds that since the angels lost reason, they have been reduced into stupid birds. He tells the birds that he still needs them, even though he is unwilling to return. He asks the bird to give him the glove back, saying that he forgot to take the glove with her. The ghost says that she did not conjure the shadows, but none of her business.
