When the three of them arrive at the banquet hall, they are greeted by Tod, who tells them that the angels want to see them. Tod explains that they need a mediator to complete the transaction, because trust does not exist between the devils and the angels. They all agree that Tod is the right man for the job, and they decide to wear masks to show their sincerity.
