This chapter opens with a tap on the door. It's the same tap that we've heard before, but this time it's on the other side of the door: the door is open, and there's a disaster in the distance. It turns out that the disaster is actually a mirror array, and that the person looking for it is the silver robe. The silver robe wants to protect himself from the future, so he's going to take the man looking for the mirror array north to find out where the disaster came from. He's also going to tell the man that he can use his fortune stick to track down the person who's responsible for the disaster. He tells the man to keep going north because the future is going to die, and the reason for this is that silver robe is trying to create a god to keep himself out of the future's danger. So, he'll protect him with his strength. The man asks if he can get some warmth, but the man says he can't because he has to drag himself up after he finds the thing under the pit. He then asks if the man's purpose is to check out the current status of the mirror-array, because if the crisis doesn't prevent the disaster, the disaster will still occur.
