In the midst of the fight with the bear, Desdemona is overcome with curiosity. She wants to know how he managed to strike the bear with such a powerful weapon, and she wonders why he didn't just grab the bear's head and run away. She wonders why the bear charged him with the strings on his head, and wonders if there are secrets in his body that she can't reveal. She also wants to try and pull the bear away from her, but she's afraid that he'll look less graceful if he does so. She decides that she'll take his clothes off and look for more secrets.
