About This Chapter
The monster and the monster's eyes meet again, this time in the mirror. The monster asks the monster why he's so weak. He says it's because the monster thinks the road is narrow, and he thinks the monster deliberately scared him. The two of them are almost there, but the monster pushes the button to open the door. He's excited that they're there, because the scene is different from the one he saw before. The only thing that takes much time, he says, is the projection. He doesn't like the way the monster talks like that, and the projection is stiff stiff, which is why it takes so long to make the image. He asks if the monster really wants to stay, and if he does, he promises to be with him. He coughs and coughs, but he won't cough for a second time. He promises that he has already forgiven the monster, and that they can stay for a while, since the monster is unconscious. He also promises to write banned books to keep them from getting too close to each other, but that's not going to solve the problem.
