The bridge is in danger of collapsing, and the spirits of the dead are swarming around it, trying to cross it. The Master says that the bridge is the path to spiritual rebirth, and that if it falls, souls will no longer be reborn the way they were before the explosion. He says that if the bridge collapses, the souls will not be able to be reborn in the normal way, which will have a devastating effect on the entire eastern land. He tells the Master that he has no time to talk about the matter, because he has to use his divine powers to support the bridge. The Bridge of Rebirth, he says, is "the path of spiritual rebirth" . The spirits used to form long lines across the bridge to cross, but after the collapse of the bridge, they began to gather and fight to cross on instinct alone, and support would eventually lead to them running out. He asks the Master if it is easier for him to prop up the bridge because he knows they are treating the symptoms, not the cause, and if they let the bridge fall apart, "everything will fall apart." The Master replies that he is afraid they can't wait for someone more suitable than himself to help, since his powers are " highly specific" , and since his performance proves that he's qualified to do the job, the Master will help him because he doesn't want him to. If the Master didn't help him, he wouldn't have done it, and he would never have asked for it. It's a "waste of time,
