Back at the castle, the father and son talk about what they're going to do. The father says that he's going to open a portal to their region and use the jewel as a staff to extract the magic from the jewel. He's not going to use it right away, but he thinks it's best to keep it because it'll be easier to get the maximum out of it now that he doesn't have to touch it. He also says that they'll need to gather all the sorcerers from the noble families so that they can all go to the central region to deal with the black snake. The guard is gone, too, so they've got to go back to the region. They'll also need to figure out a way to get their children back to their homes. They need to find out what's up with their son, who's nowhere to be found. The dad says he heard everything from mom, so he'll talk to him if he needs anything. He says that if he really wanted to stop mom, he'd have to kill her at the court, since she told him not to. But if he wanted to fight mom on par, he should use all the available sources to do so. He warns the son not to worry about his body too much, since there's only one chance.
