In this chapter, we learn that the woman who guards the entrance to the castle is the one who poisoned Lucile. Lucile also tells us that she and her mother have gone to the "regional tree" to find out what's going on. They're not sure who's responsible for the poison, but they're pretty sure it's violet or espresso. The only thing that's keeping Lucile from reaching the other side is that she doesn't know what the government's doing with the "region tree" . She's pretty sure that the government is poisoning it, but she's not sure what the culprit is. She also tells her mother and aunt that they've gone to "the region tree" because of the poison.
