In this chapter, we learn that the region tree has become a breeding ground for all kinds of magical creatures, including humans. As a result of this new development, a child is born outside the tree's reach. This means that humans can no longer escape from the tree. The only people who are able to escape are the commoners and the sorcerers who have been ordered to bring them in. The region tree is so petty, says the pumpkin, that no one can escape. He tells the pumpkin that they should be prepared to fight again when they meet again. The pumpkin tells him to get away from the girl, but the pumpkin is too weak to do so. He says that they must keep running, because there is no way they can win against the two girls. He asks the pumpkin to remember why he came to the tree, and the pumpkin says that it is a curse. He begs the pumpkin not to go back to the girl until she and the girl return to normal
