This chapter opens with a soliloquy by aquila, in which he tells Maria that she has a chance to prove herself. He tells her that he will keep her if she finds the hideout of amel, since her family has secrets. He says that if they can catch one of her secrets, it will be easy to take them as here. He warns her that if she fails, they will make others fail as well. He asks her to drop and crawl, but she says that she does not know if it is a new religion or a new man. She says that the red haired girl must have been there, and that it is just their youngest brother taking a nap. Aquila tells her to hurry up, and she says she will explain later. He grabs her and says, "Oh my a boy, drop. if amel were a boy. she would like him. What a shame. Never mind competing. he says he will live with her for a successful child. She asks him if something good happened, and he says that it was fine if she did. She tells him that she made sure to investigate all the places on the list, but that there was no crawl, no breeze, and no magic. She claims that she can tell if she is lying
