About This Chapter
It's been a while since we've heard anything, and now we're back to find out what's going on with Mina. She's in a small town in the middle of nowhere, and she's just heard some strange noises. It turns out that Mina heard something, and it's from the west, which is where the witches have been gathering their information. Mina's not sure what to do, but she decides to tell us what she knows: the witches in the west have a lot of information, and they've been using it to their advantage. She tells us that the witches there have been using their magic to stop people from escaping from their tyranny, and that's why the people of the west revolted against the lord of their region. The lord left the area, and someone stopped her, and the lord wasn't in the state of magic to use it to stop the people. Mina thinks that all three of these things have a chance, and then she figures out that the portrait Mina saw with Nina is the portrait of the lord from the western region. Mina swears that she doesn't know what the witches wanted her to tell her, but then she shows us the records of that lord's reputation, and we can see that she was kind and generous to the people in the western part of the region, and maybe she was a different person from the one we saw before. Mina is so upset that she can't figure out what she was supposed to tell him. She wants to know why normal people are unable to use magic, because of the trees' choice.
