About This Chapter
"Drip, drip, pour... due to unknown explosion" . The narrator tells us that the central government has been destroyed by an unknown explosion. Most of the officials are dead, but only a few have survived. The highest priest is still alive, and he's safe. The group decides to gather to see old friends. They've been waiting for a while, and now they're going to meet some old friends! The narrator doesn't know what to make of it. He's not happy about the fact that the group is making fun of him. He tells the group that they are lords of the central, and that the highest priest has less power than them. The reason why the central is above them, the narrator says, is that the higher priest can communicate with the central. This means that the chain of command in the central will change. The men agree to this. They can't acknowledge the man who tried to kill them, and the narrator asks if they can come to the place tonight. He says that they all have "lifelong disability" because of the injuries they've inflicted on each other. He asks if the men can come and talk to him. The man says that he'll give them time to think it over.
