This chapter opens with a description of a broken bowl. It's clear that Master Yang is embarrassed by the fact that he's been swindled once again. The bowl is filled with rubbish, and Master Yang wonders if it's actually a bowl with a treasure in it. He decides to check it out and see if there's a treasure there. He finds a rusty sword, which reminds him of the ancient scroll. The manager agrees to buy the sword. He asks if the owner of the sword said there wasn't any treasure in the stones, and the owner says that he just wanted one. The owner says he'll accept the manager's money, but he wants to know why Master Yang isn't selling the sword to him. The man says that the tower used to have a rule that customers first come in, but now there are people wanting to buy things, but they're not coming in. Everyone is mad at Master Yang for not selling, and they all freak out.
