This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, in which Cai Ming tells his servant, Ling, that he wishes he were a human and that he would die if he had to beg or kneel before him. He tells Ling that he will let him experience a "living hell" if he kneels before him and begs or begs.
