Fang and his dog, Chiron, are having a little tiff. Fang thinks that Chiron is trying to bully him into taking the exam, but Chiron insists that he's the one who's blocking his path. Fang says that since Chiron can't understand human language, he'll have to teach Chiron a lesson about being a human. Fang and Chiron decide that they're going to have to run away from the test, since there's going to be a lot of people at the festival that day. They don't want to spoil the festival, they decide, and they'll just let it go. They'll teach Chiron how to regret, Fang says, and then he and Chiron will be expelled from school.
