About This Chapter
"The Treasure of the Hacienda Los Creepers" The narrator and his friend, boris, are in the nunnery when they realize that they've run out of food. . They're tired, and they don't even want to talk about the fact that they haven't had anything to eat for the past two days. They think that the nuns only let in girls, and that's why they're not allowed to eat. They wonder why they sent the princess back to the convent, since men will come to look at her and think that she's a legend. They also wonder why men would want to kill a woman who's such a legend to them. They decide to go with the "old timer's" plan of befriending the princess and then breaking her heart for the big score. They go to the tent, untie the princess, grab the gold, and light out the back. They see cool stuff, like a white house, a homeless man, and a monument in Washington, D. C. The princess was teaching them about finer things, like how to be happy in life. They get really desperate, and the princess makes them burn her and pull her across the park. The narrator tells his friend that if he had told him that it was really important to him that head, he wouldn't have done it. He tells him to give him some time to think things over, and then he'll come back with his cheodar.
