"Sunshine and roses" is the title of this chapter, which begins with a description of a man crawling on his fours. The narrator tells us that he's looking for a reason to hate his brother. He's talking about all the people in his life who hate their brother, including his own brother, Scott. He also says that the stars have told him about this phenomenon before, and that sometimes, even people don't deserve what they're getting. He says that he knows that Scott's brother, Erik, hates his brother, i.vic. He tells the gang that they need to go to his house and scare the living daylights out of him. They need to know if he loves his girlfriend, and if he does, then they should go down to the "basement" and kill him. He doesn't want to sell them out, he says, because he'd be dead if he did. Erik got caught and kicked a "major- ham major" , but he got away with it because he knew where he was going to be and when he would be there. The gang decides to hide until the whole thing is over.
