"Things Change" In this chapter, we learn that Scott and Alek are still in the dark about what's going on between Alek and Borachio. They're still trying to figure out how to get rid of Borachio, who's still in love with Alek. Alek thinks Borachio is lying, but he doesn't know what to do about it. He's also worried that Borachio will think they're lying about him. Alek says Borachio isn't taking his "pretty girl" like him, and that he's out "fondling strippers" . He also says that if Borachio knew they were planning to steal his money and split the town with Alek, he'd think it was the "ultimate betrayal" , and he wouldn't want to be a part of it either. Alek then says that it's "amazing" that Alek can see when he knows that he is supposed to be searching for something. He says that even though they don't really know each other, Alek is a friend, and if he can't tell Scott or Harry about the whole thing, he can tell Alek what he knows from the "cocks crow." Alek then asks if they can meet up with Borachio's son, Erik, and find out if Erik is on board with Alek's plan to split up the town. Alek admits that he hasn't gone back to the city yet, but that tomorrow is going to be "a big day."
