About This Chapter
Back in Baltimore in the summer of 1977, a young man named Nemo meets up with a buddy named Lonny in the street. Nemo tells Lonny that he's going to meet up with another buddy named Harry in a few days, and the two of them reminisce about Harry Potter. Nemo says that Harry is the greatest movie ever made, and that he can't wait to see what happens when Lonny figures out who Harry is. Nemo admits that he doesn't know who Harry's friends are, but he says that he has seen Harry seven times, and he'd like to meet Harry again. Nemo asks if he can go check on his mom, who's still alive, and she says that she's fine, but she'd rather see him in trouble than see him go through with his plans to kill her. Nemo is all, "Gee, I know a lot more about these things than you do." He says that his dad works for a rig company, and his dad drives a rig for a company called the "Orioles." Nemo tells his mom that he thinks the Orioles are going to win the "world series," and that his mom is a "horror in the family" . Nemo's mom, he says, works hard to take good care of her son, and it's time for him to stop acting so selfishly.
