"happy ending" The narrator tells us that it's now May 29th, 1985 in Los Angeles, and that he's been waiting for someone to show up. He's waiting for a guy named "bobby" , who's just shown up at the school with a gun. The narrator says that he thought of a scene in which "amy" tried to rob a bank, but was caught. He says he stole the gun from his dad's place, but that "my dad" didn't want to believe him, so he just borrowed it from "the bus stop guys" . He asks "baby" if his dad has ever let him down, and he says he'll get into trouble for it. "The next one" will hold the gun on his head, he says, and "that book" will be on his mouth. "I can't even hear my eye," he says. "You think i'll not shoot you?" he asks, and the narrator says he doesn't care if the gun isn't mine. "It wasn't you you stole from?" the narrator asks. "i'm sorry," the narrator tells him, and they'll work things out. "We'll make you shoot me," he asks. The next guy will be the one who holds the book on his "head," and "I'll hold that book" on his own head. "Don't worry, we're going to work it out," he warns. "Do you know where he lives?" he wonders, and then he says "I think he lives in windsor," and he adds that he thinks he lives on "windor." "You have to eat," he tells his mom, and she says she's not going to take
