About This Chapter
In this short scene, the narrator tells us what happened to the duffle bag containing all of Jim's money. He tells us that he promised to stay away from the money if it came to that, but now that he's found out about it, he wants to make sure that he doesn't get involved in any more crimes. He says that if he can get his hands on the woman, he'll be able to recover all of her money. Jim says that he still plans to kill his son, but that he has found a man named Massimo Sicaro who has her in California. Jim tells the narrator that he will help him find the woman if he has her. He also says that Stephano is getting away with all of his money, and that he can't help him anymore. Jim asks the narrator what he knows, and the narrator says that it's about red hair and freckles. The narrator tells him that he should have let him take the money out on Orson, but he says that's too bad they didn't come.
