About This Chapter
"Sex and Violence" The narrator tells us that sex and violence are just like any other form of entertainment. It's all about who gets to be the "winner" and who gets "the loser" . The narrator says that he'd rather have sex with a girl than a boy. He also says that sex isn't just about winning, it's about finding out who's good and bad. He's got a story to tell, and he wants to show it to the narrator. He wants to know what's going on with his parents, who're going to be gone for the weekend. He asks if they have a hoop in their room. They don't, because they're supposed to be hanging out with their friends. He says that his parents will be gone until Sunday night, so they'll have to wait until the next day. He tells the narrator that he has a character he's been writing about, and that she's the one who stole his stuff. He doesn't want to tell anyone about it, because he thinks her name is "amy" , which means "unmentionable." He says he'll write a story about her when he grows up, but he can't do it now because his dad won't even look at him. He wishes he could go to his parents' house and show them what he has to show them. He hopes they'd let him show them the stuff he has made for them, because it'll make them feel better about not being able to go to their friends' house. He thinks that his dad is an evil genius, and wants to make his own gun in black and white. He wonders if he could get comics if they were too important, since he thinks his dad's "evil genius" is "an evil genius." He also wants to see what his mom got for him. She's not going to get anything delivered to her house, so he wants her to put the groceries in the basket. She says she'll do that, too, and tells him to tell his big friend to stop looking at him and start using the whip. She also tells him that he should tell his friend that he was supposed to go out for a walk in the park, but that everyone else was going to risk their lives. She tells him he should go to the park next week, and then he should see her again. She asks him if he
