In this chapter, Scott continues his discussion of the rules of the universe with Huck Finn. He tells Huck that he is the partner to Huck's racecar, and that he has read every newspaper article about Huck and the car. He also tells Huck about the fact that Huck is from a small town called "murder one" , which was closed down and replaced by "murder two" and "murder three" . Huck asks why Huck is still crying, and Huck tells him that it is because he is leaving behind a trail, but that she cannot stop him. Huck tells Scott that he will destroy him if he breaks her heart, and he tells him to recon his fortress and meet him again in 48 hours. Huck says that he was only in this to establish his post as a "my rep" and that if he were to break her heart he would destroy him. He asks Huck if he is up to the rules. Huck replies that he did not want to kill holden, because he thought he was stupid. Huck then tells Huck the good news: he has found a new lip balm, which he says will make him feel better. Huck comments that the magic ladies of the island taste better when they are down and out, because they have no legs, spleen, or colon. Huck responds by saying that he had been waiting for Huck to acknowledge that the rules were not working for him, and now he is ready to get his rear in gear
