January 1986 near Baltimore. The narrator tells us that he's found out that the new guy is a liar. He's heard that the guy raped a teacher, slit her throat, and kidnapped a bunch of kids. He doesn't really know if he wants to play with the guy, but he does know that he can't pin him on anyone. He tells the narrator that he is starting to regret helping the guy bag that chick. He says that the cops were talking to the girl's parents last night, and they said that the girl was missing, but for real. He adds that he talked to her the other day, and she was "stoned out" of her mind. He asks the narrator if the guy is going to rape her, and the narrator says he is, then he'll kill her and pin it on the mom. The mom says that she wants to speak to the cops, but the dad says that they're a "pathetic crew" and that they don't even know where the girl is. She asks the dad to get her husband, and he says that he heard the cops say that the kid raped his cousin, and that he knows that it was the kid's idea. She tells the dad that she's going to take the girl somewhere else, but that she needs some money to do so. The dad says he'd take off his clothes if he were the narrator, and then he tells the mom to watch her step and mouth if she were him.
