The scene opens on a rainy field day, and Hiroyuki and Minori are discussing the weather. Hiroyuki tells Minori that he's having a hard time adjusting to his new life in the West Building. He's bummed that he can't meet up with him after he graduates, but Minori assures him that they'll meet up in the east building, where there are no other students there. He tells Hiroyuki that if he'd met him first, he would never have broken off his relationship with his best friend. But now, he says, he doesn't pretend to be anything other than he is. They've changed the world, but they're still stuck living it the same way they always did. He wants to know what the heck is going on, but Hiroyuki won't give him a straight answer. Instead, he tells him to cheer up, which he does by making a cup of hot hojicha for Hiroyuki.
